David Gordon is an artist and developer based in Los Angeles, with a background in creating immersive audiovisual experiences and interactive multimedia projects. For his Master’s project at UCSB, he wrote custom software and presented a series of interactive video installations, which  let viewers browse sights and sounds of local Santa Barbara parks as 3D navigable scenes. As a researcher, David’s primary interests are sonification (data display using sound) and visualization. The paper, “Sonifying Data Uncertainty with Sound Dimensions,” which he coauthored with researchers at UCSB and the University of London, was recently accepted into the journal Cartography and Geographic Information Science for 2018. David holds degrees in Music Composition (Ph.D) and Media, Arts and Technology (M.S.) from UC Santa Barbara.
